Voile objectives with leathers today. I've developed a much more upright stance.

awesome terrain-- i grew up in durango but have only spent much time around andrews lake in summer. looks like perfect xcd conditions.

i also ski the objectives with light boots (alfa guard, nnnbc binding) though spend more time on narrower skis. i think the spread of your stance is about right from my experience on the gear. the wide rockered tip of the objective is staying afloat with your weight distribution-- but i try to weight even more on the rear ski (narrower skis like FT62 are less forgiving and will quickly reward you with faceplant if on deeper snow and too much forward weight).

it looks like the transitions between turns are a good next step to focus if you want to ski smoother linked turns w tighter radius. i made progress by thinking about pulling the forward leg back under me to transition to the next turn (as opposed to sliding the trailing foot forward).

attached pic is objectives and alfa guards!

I like everything about this stance/transition.

@Lhartley , Nice turns!

I followed the other link to the other site. It didn’t seem like a place for me. If Mr Double Pole Plant is their idea of good skiing, I don’t need to know much more. It wasn’t the double pole plant, or really any obvious fault in form. He’s just not a very dynamic skier. He links Telemark turns, and no obvious fault in form, but I was not looking closely
They talked smack about Allan, whom does make dynamic turns, I’ve seen the photos.
I hope they enjoy their website, and skiing. They make Tele turns, so they can’t be all bad. For me, I’ll just leave them to their own world

Mr. Double-Pole-Plant (no relation to Robert Plant) was not quite as stiff as Frankenstein, more like a Herman Munster, but sans Herman's sense of humor. BTW I was in Münster, Germany a couple of year's ago and I looked to see If there were any Herman Munsters in the phone book- there was about a half a page of them.

Ya about them making tele turns.....did some investigative journalism today.

Meet Mark the moderator. Mark loves to rip on people and offer sage advice on all things telemark.....yet doesn't telemark. Which is fine. Nobody cares if you don't telemark, Mark

And Teledance. I'm knitpicking here but that's what doublepoleplantRon does best.

Lucas, we like you here. You don’t need to be in their club, life is short, you don’t need to fight battles that you don’t need to fight.

Awh! Thanks Bob.

I'm surprised Johhny hasn't gave me shit for posting links to TherealAlpinetips forum. He must be cackling at Ron aka doublepoleplantTele and his multiple personalities having a meltdown rn

Anyways, back to scheduled programming

Lucas, as far as your technique, don't get high stance confused with upright stance. There is nothing wrong with bending at the waist. In fact, it improves balance and helps you stay centered. As my shoulders go forward, my rear end goes back, so I stay in balance. Also, as my butt goes back it's in a better position to drive the rear ski. I find it to be a more aggressive position and it's easier to stay centered over your skis. You don't need to be bent over much, just enough to get your butt back. As a good example look at MSU's avitar, you'll see he's not totally upright.
