I skied in Excursions for several backcountry seasons. They're great boots, if the fit is good. My boots were an early model without the moldable liners, so I had to do quite a bit of fitting and adjusting to keep my heels down. Otherwise they were ok, but don't, of course, flex like a good stiff leather boot, or have the cuff height to give solid control in tele turns--though certainly better than leather.
I switched to T2 Ecos about 6 years ago; the boots are slightly heavier but have much more control that the Excursions, and the combination of a thermo liner, much better buckle arrangement, and a walking mode makes these boots pretty good all around

I had the green two buckle T2s. They should be a good upgrade without feeling much different to you. It was a smooth transition for me coming from leather boots. Not so much going from them to a four buckle boot.
These Green 2 buckle in this video? These boots seem very capable, along with the skis which I seen described on the multi personality forum as "junk". Look pretty good to me https://youtube.com/shorts/pv_kVQCA3Sw? ... 9e0P7j2DFJ
The Sauvage was/is in fact a nice ski, as were a few others from BD (which were Tua's) of the same vintage. That pic of the green Good pic of the green T2's, before the bellows were tweaked to become more anatomically friendly, and the quality of the plastic improved.
Found a pair this summer at my local landfills salvage center store for 2 dollars. Will be mounted with these 3pin cable, hope I can ski them like Josh someday
Hey all. Checking back. When skiing and lost the opportunity to by the T2 2-buckel! Hope this thread is useful to somebody.
On the xcD skis. Agree. I thought my old Karhu guides were great until I got them out of soft snow. Still used them for 15 years. Recently bought some Rabb 68s and they are cool and all, but still an xcD ski. I had them up high above tree line in hard slab they were down right sketchy. But they sure ski great in anything soft with a base. I also really like the x-skin system of the asnes skis.
Given I hit plenty of hard pack and trails, a ski like the G3 Stinger XCD would be sweet. Still wish they made it. THe new voile endeavor looks ok, but not sure what benefit at all I would get compared to my ultra vectors. In the 184 lengthy they are only 10mm different at waist. I hope voile keeps experimenting and gets to a mid 70s waist ski at long lengths with a bit of tip rise. That would be a sweet steep trail bc ski.
