Comparing sizes between Scarpa and Garmont
Hi all,
There are some boots I am interested in buying in but I have no way of trying them before hand. I am currently on Scarpa T4s. These boots are the 2006 Syner G boots. I am aware of Scarpa shells braking on the half size.
My size in Scarpa is 28.5 (28.0 hurt my toes) so essentially, 334 mm shell size (as opposed to 324 on the 28.0). These Garmont boots are 29.0 MP. Does anyone have any idea how the sizing translates from one company to another?

For Scarpa's, 28.5/29 are the same size shell, Garmont's would be 29 and 29.5 same shell. The Synergy's have a very different fit and feel compared to the T4's (or T2's, for that matter).

Oh I don't mind the different feel, I just wonder how my Scarpa 28.5 translate to Garmont. Is the 29.0 Garmont equivalent to a 28.5 Scarpa?

Both would be a mondo 29 shell. Other than the feel of the boot (flex, etc), the last itself will feel different... but the shell size should be the same

I have read other posts here stating Scarpa are on a narrower last. I wear a 26.0 in most boots and can't get my wide forefoot into a Scarpa of that size.

This is/was true for most generations of Garmonts and Scarpas. My Excursions are overly spacious compared to a T4, for example. Garmont Gara's and Veloe's, also cavernous compared to T2's, T1's, T-Race, etc. That said, the Synergy's had an entirely different fit, and are considerably narrower in the fore foot.
