Re: Nordic-Step Universal Shoe Harness
That is a neat concept. Wonder how tight they hold your regular boot in and if there’s a sense of disconnect. Sorta suspect the ‘pivot’ would feel different. I saw mention of one for 3-pin but nothing for Xplore yet?
Saw this on Varusteleka…

Edit: Had a good chuckle, just saw that you mentioned the Varusteleka offering in another thread 🤣

Short skis, with lots of sidecut, and rubber boots. I can’t think of a much worse overall configuration.
I sure hope it’s just propaganda.

The Canadian Military is pretty loose in its training. I know a guy who does training exercises on a splitboard. Obviously a lot of the stuff in these photos isn't milspec. Sometimes we just aren't a very serious country. Sorry!

Re: Nordic-Step Universal Shoe Harness
I wanted to use these to be able to easily switch between skis and snowshoes. Unfortunately they don’t fit hiking boots well; the toepiece is smaller than the toes of my Rocky hiking boots and when in use the boots can’t stay in place because of it. My feet kept slipping off the skis and twisting my ankle, even after I stopped to tighten them, mid-tour. Good idea, but poor execution.

Here is a link to the manufacturer’s site. https://nordic-step.com What! The 3-pins are out of stock? Darn! I was really looking forward to twisting an ankle on a steep snowshoe trail with the Nordic-Steps + Hoks
