Asnes Sondre
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

I have no info for you, but no one has responded so I'm going to butt in...
I'm wondering what your interest in these skis is? For your kids?
They seem to be aimed at light weight beginners from what I can gather from the description, and I don't think that describes you from what I can recall.
I know you have a bit of an obsession with Asnes, but why this ski?

Re: Asnes Sondre
I agree with Mikek on this one. They are by far the most available used Asnes ski in Sweden (for a reason I'm sure!). I had concluded Sondre were much softer cambered than Amundsen. But hey, we're are in NA, not Scandinavia with their hard packed amazing snow for touring, so soft cambered thin BCX skis might be interesting for some here.MikeK wrote:I have no info for you, but no one has responded so I'm going to butt in...

By the way, jus saying. I've got some Amundsens 201s here. I will try them out a few more outings but they might be too long (stiff) for me. Perhaps they will be of interest to a heavier TeleTalk enthusiast?
I live for the Telemark arc....The feeeeeeel.....I ski miles to get to a place where there is guaranteed snow to do the deal....TM

Re: Asnes Sondre
I was simply interested in the Sondre because of the sale price. It has similar dimensions to the E-99, Glittertind, BC68. And like the rest of this group, based on the Asnes website description, I did not expect the Sondre to be very stiff. The description is a bit hard to decipher. Yeah, sure it's softer than the Amundsen- but what backcountry ski isn't softer than the Amundsen? For lightweight skiers and beginners? Strange description- Mike, you are correct I am not "heavy" for my height, but I'm certainly not "light weight".
I was simply fishing- wondering whether anybody had actually tried the Sondre. Maybe I'll contact the dealer.
bgregoire- As far as your 201cm Amundsens...(BTW- do you prefer to be referred to as "bgregoire"?)...I might be interested in them. Too stiff? Even with a heavy load- pack and/or pulk? I weigh 185lbs.
I see the Amundsen as a long-distance expedition ski- to carry/pull heavy loads. I also see using them with the kicker skin. I would want them very stiff to free up the kicker skin during the glide phase. Unfortunately I do not see myself being able to use a ski like the Amundsen for a few years. The best I can hope for is a several-hour tour out my back door...I may make it back to QC for some hut-to-hut touring next winter- this winter I am going to have to stay close to home again.
I might be interested in your Amundsen's by the spring- I need to build up my ski equipment fund again!
