Weird reverse camber on those skis. But probably going tip-to-tail with Elk Fat Polar.
They may have lost some of their camber due to the way they were stored the past 1300 years.
I wonder if they published the exact dimensions of the skis anywhere. It might be cool to make replicas (even with modern camber & nordic rocker) and try to ski them with modern kick wax or kicker skins

When old things become new again...kinda liked shaped skis that the snowboard industry takes credit for(nothing against snowboarders as I do it myself, but they didn't invent anything...just brought back something old and made it new again...I also remember someone at Armada saying they invented Twin Tips...I have twin tips from the 50's in my garage now with Bessers on them.). History rocks!

I am actually working with a local ski maker to make a couple different skis for the event I put on at Hoodoo here in Oregon and the event is called Viking-Fest. Super stoked and I promise to share the progress here. Can't wait to get started...the wood is being kiln-dried now.

LOOOVE those huge raised tips on those ancient skis.
Ancient skiers seemed to almost worship a ski tip designed for backcountry snow- you can see it in the way they overemphasized the ski tips in their drawings.

I wonder if those narrow, raised tips are better at breaking through breakable crust than the ski designs we ski today, with the force being concentrated in a smaller area.
That might be something worth experimenting with. It adds minimal weight, and tips are generally rockered anyway on today's skis...

That sounds exactly like those Asnes MT65 USGI surplus skis from Colemans. The more things change, the more they stay the same
