Adding to what has recently be said:
First off, I’m not saying there aren’t other products out there that will work just as well — I just know first hand about these products.

If you already have a blister, use the Band-Aid Hydroseal Blister product.
It is not snake oil — it really works. I was really impressed.
Stays on for days, lets the blister heal, will eventually fall off (days later).
It’s not the same as the waterproof bandages (and Tegaderm is better for that — used it for a surfboard fin cut, so I could get back in the water sooner).

On the Micropore tape, I use the 2” wide stuff and cut a piece about 3” or 4” long, mitre the corners, and wrap it horizontally around my heal.
It’s a flat plane, so gets wrinkles in it. I used to try and mitigate that, but realized the wrinkles don’t matter.

This is after being on my foot for 4 or 5 days (my feet aren’t winning any beauty contests!).
Hi Stephen,

Does the residue from the 3M Micropore tape stick to your socks?

The residue gunk in the wool socks is a real problem with Leukotape (which is otherwise great stuff), so I search an alternative.

Which version of Micropore tape do you use?

Sorry I deleted your foot photo, I have standards after all.

Cheers and Happy Christmas

Why not just use Compeed? Or better yet get good boots and socks.

Use to suffer terribly with heel blisters when using heavy leathers. No more- eZeefitsports.com to the rescue!

leuko tape and squirrels nut butter.

leuko tape is miraculous stuff. put a piece on the part of your heel that blisters before you go out, apply a bit of nut butter to the area, and youre off to the races. and if you get a hot spot or blister on the move, the leukotape can also go right on top and save you from a lot of misery.

I have used it but it gums up the socks pretty bad, not nice on a week or more tour.

@Stephen only 3 years late! I guess I should add some supplies to the first aid kit.
Great post

I never had a problem with adhesive transfer, but your scenario is quite different, so who knows.
Might be worth a try.
