Nice find! Even more detail if you look at the full size, like 4x screen size.

Here is some historical FILM footage (e.g. 4:30) and interviews with WWII veterans who served in the 10th.

I went back to Ski Cooper today off of Tennessee Pass in Colorado where the memorial to the 10th Mountain is.
The sign for Ski Cooper is behind the USFS road sign, and they share an entrance off US-24 with an extra U-drive for the memorial that has US-24 on one end and the Ski Cooper road at the other making for an easy detour.

The main lift at Ski Cooper's base is the 10th Mountain Double...

The top level of Ski Cooper's base lodge is an open area with a glass partition to make two meeting spaces, suited to brown bag lunching and overlooking the slopes.

It also serves as a mini-museum for the 10th Mountain with the back wall in the room opposite the window half with various photos and items.

The wool liners and felt insoles reminded me of U.S. military N-1B Mukluks.

In addition to the 10th, the 99th Infantry Battalion was a battalion of Norwegian-speaking Americans that also trained at Camp Hale during WW2.

I'm sure this veterans fellow soldiers had fun with his rank, nickname and last name... such is the military. Cool to see a locally involved connection.
