sorry if it was already covered-
"kick waxing behind scales"-
kick waxing behind your heel will not improve XC skiing kick performance, and if the wax is truly working as a kick wax, it will also reduce glide. If one needs more kick in a Nordic touring context- extend the kick wax forwards, not behind the heel.
