El Nino
Re: El Nino
Yup. LOL
Very concerned about “subsistence skiers” crossing The Bridge this winter in search of our snow. Not talking about the International Bridge either. Ha ha.

Re: El Nino
We will have to wait and see.
Last year they talked about another La Niña drought year and look what we got in CA. Right now we still have about 15-20’ or more in the Sierra backcountry above 10,500’. Typically it is all melted out by now and the skeeters are partying.
In 2022 everyone was so excited that Nov. and Dec gave us Precip… AND THEN came the January, Feb and March deluges followed by April and May run of the mill snow storms.
We will just have to take it as it comes.

Anyone skiing between Mt Ranier and Mt Hood might have a poor season ahead. Maybe the Sierras won’t be great either. The rest of the country looks OK though.

Re: El Nino
here in Tahoe we have not had a single major storm and i have to go to 9000' for half decent snow right now.
last season at this time the main road was completely divided by a 15 foot berm and i could ski from my front door into the back country (6260' here at lake level). so yeah so far i'm not in el nino

Re: El Nino
My oak trees predict winter quite well. They are saying in SE Michigan we will get a little winter. It will not be the worst winter in the 38 years I have been observing these trees, but I think my trail skiing this year will be very limited.
