What boots to buy??

Yeah, when we stick to talking skiing (which one would expect of a skiing forum) and keep personality out of it, it usually goes cordially and is informative. Decided to pass on the boots solely because I already have 2 and have as of yet not even tried 75mm. Will give it a season and see how I like it first. Definitely gonna remount Nansen with it, and probably my new natos, just because of what I read about that binding being robust, easy for field repair or whipping up something to get you through in the event of a failure.

That new Finnish binding (the one being packaged with the KSF Scout) looks interesting. Heel spring only. Welted boot slots into the toe piece. Provision for a toe strap but not needed if the toe piece is adjusted properly.

No bail, no pins, no special boots (other than welted with a distinct heel). And it’s not like the Finnish Army doesn’t know about skiing. Probably a bit more oriented to distance, rolling hills etc.

Might suit your kind of skiing @mca80, lifestyle. You sound like an outdoorsman. Prolly appreciate having the opportunity to ski into town, take off skis, and pick up necessaries without changing boots.

If your toes are squished, and your toenails come off, it could be a sign that your boots are too tight or the soles have worn out.
The Scarpa T4 boots can be quite stiff initially, but they may loosen up over time.

As for compatibility with your Fischer 88 S-Bound skis, the Scarpa T4 boots should work well, but it's always a good idea to double-check with the manufacturer or a knowledgeable ski shop.
