Yeah, it is - but what we were calling a skeleton is different than what Crispi calls it. I cannot feel it with my heel, but I believe it ties into that lower buckle.LoveJohnny wrote:I tried to find the link but I can't find it anymore... Gee, can't remember where I read that... But they were saying that the skeleton is inside the boot, not outside...

Nah, I read a technical paper somewhere... Of course it disappeared from my history... I was probably dreaming... Dreaming of the ultimate boot...!Rodbelan wrote:Hey LJ, Is this what you are looking for? Not sure...

Looking at this boot again and trying to decide between the Stetind, Loften, and Svartisen...lilcliffy wrote:At least appears to be a Stetind plus the strap.
Seems a bit like splitting hairs to me...
If I were to consider this boot, I think I would prefer to go another step and get the Svartisen.
At a second glance, the exterior design looks more like the Svartisen to me than the Stetind.
Read the UTE Magazine test of the Stetind and Svartisen again:
http://www.utemagasinet.no/Utstyr/Sko-deg
Their test suggests that the Svartisen is softer than the Stetind, and only offers more leverage with the upper power strap tightened.
If the Lofoten is as soft as the Svartisen perhaps it is very close to the Alaska above the ankle?
Mike's comparison of the Svartisen vs. Alaska indicates that the Svartisen is considerably more powerful...
I keep thinking I might prefer the Stetind over the Svartisen...

I do like the color of the Lofoten- as I like my orangy-red Alaskas...Can't say I mind black though.LoveJohnny wrote:Yeah, but the Lofoten is red...!I keep thinking I might prefer the Stetind over the Svartisen...
What I don't like is the return to 80s neon- my 2015 Fischer E-99 tour easy-skins are an absolutely hideous neon yellow!

Haha! That for sure means Johnny will buy a pair!lilcliffy wrote: What I don't like is the return to 80s neon- my 2015 Fischer E-99 tour easy-skins are an absolutely hideous neon yellow!
Speaking of neon skis - my grandfather who recently passed away had a few skis from when he was skiing (probably back in the mid-90s was his last outing). My relatives asked me to take a look:
If anyone wants a pair - I think they are 190 or 200s. I can maybe be convinced to pick them up and put them in the mail. They were a rad ski back in the day...

Neon yellow and pink together- hurts my eyes and my stomach! Whoever ends up with those definitely needs a matching neon pink-yellow full-body glove, and matching zinc sunscreen under the eyes!
