Help me to not be a jerk
Re: Help me to not be a jerk
I was on. the East skin route here at Whitefish the other day and a guy had a giant white Samoyed with his own Uphill pass tagged to his back. talk about a happy dog !

Hey Mr. FourthCoast... removing the plastic tongues from the shell would make those T2's move along a bit easier.
Also... the rockered sole is probably putting a lot of strain on the binding screws, especially the front one... check them periodically.

yeah ... I should probably get new boots, too.
The bindings are on threaded inserts that are epoxied into the ski. I take a look at them when I swap bindings around. So far nothing looks like it has moved.

Re: Help me to not be a jerk
I decided to go for it and get a nice track-appropriate ski. Some MR48s are on the way to me (Thanks, Stephen!).
I need NNN-BC boots before I can actually use them. I have really enjoyed my vintage Scarpa T2s and I have never had any fun with the very soft XC boots I have tried. I think want the stiffest NNN-BC boot I can find. Support is much more important to me than easy forward flex.
Does anyone have some advice for an NNN-BC boot or maybe a used one for sale in a Men's 10 or 9.5 ?

Your videos are great. The demonstrations of different gear and all the different types of skiing you do are a real treasure.
Re: Help me to not be a jerk
sometimes you want a truck, sometimes you want a car, but autos that claim to be both are rarely good at either. filling a Subaru with a ton of gravel rarely works. driving twisty roads quickly in an F250 rarely works. putting 35" mud tires on a Subaru rarely works, putting track tires on an F250 rarely works.

So ... I think this MR48 is more like the Subaru WRX STI and less like the Subaru Outback. Maybe the Outback is a better fit for me but the STI was available and at a good price. Unfortunately the STI did not come with tires.bauerb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 12:14 pmsometimes you want a truck, sometimes you want a car, but autos that claim to be both are rarely good at either. filling a Subaru with a ton of gravel rarely works. driving twisty roads quickly in an F250 rarely works. putting 35" mud tires on a Subaru rarely works, putting track tires on an F250 rarely works.
Or are the skis the tires and boots are the vehicles?
