Ahhhh! At last! A new pair of SLs! And bonus: They are Rossi 9S, my favorite skis! Donated by a kind local ski patroller... How many days until I break them? (The skis, not the bindings... ; )

A practice area for XCD beginners.
To start off the tour, climb up that snow wall!

That looks like it was going to be an oh shit moment on the landing.....unless he had a bit of air time in front of him to get the skis back under him.

Cima,
At first I was dreaming of the west coast rookies. Since you joined the forum, i'm more and more dreaming about Japan keep those pictures coming and I might chance my plans...
I'm curious, is this your backyard or you have to travel a few miles to get to those places?

Nowadays we see many Australians, Canadians and Americans skiing in the ski resorts in Hokkaido island and the central part of Hoshu island. Here is the recent report:Bri7 wrote: At first I was dreaming of the west coast rookies. Too much snow. Not in my backyard.Bri7 wrote: I'm curious, is this your backyard or you have to travel a few miles to get to those places?
There are many backcountry skiing areas within one or two hour drive from my home.
By contrast, we don't have such much snow in our city.
