I bought a pair. Indeed the top sheet says Austria. However, there's a product sticker on the plastic wrap that says made in Ukraine.

Nice symbol! The Sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. We are helping three Ukrainian families here in Italy, women and children. Their men are fighting for Ukraine. I met six more Ukrainian families in a trekking (DNT) cabin in Norway two weeks ago (in Trollheimen). The DNT took them hiking for the weekend. Also only women and children. One 8 year old boy made us a series of children's drawings..hard to imagine what war is like for him....maybe I will post some of his drawings in the off-topic board.

I am suffering from analysis paralysis here in Central Oregon. I skate ski and have some old 60 mm Alpina touring skis (rarely use!) and want to get some backcountry touring skis. This is a new venture and can’t decide between the 78s or the 88s. At 140lbs before gear/pack, I think I need 179cm. I will be doing a variety of trails, sime forest roads, some hills, some trail breaking. Anyone care to comment? Many if my ski partners have the 88s and love them. One has the rossignol bc 80s and loves them.Anyone care to comment? Thanks!

The Excursion 88 and Traverse 78 are similar skis. I ski the 78 and Julie skis the 88 when we are skiing Forest Service roads. She is about your height, but lighter, and likes the 169 cm. She skied an Sbound 78 (same ski as the modern Traverse 78) at 178 cm for many years but prefers the shorter version of the Excursion 88 as it gives her more grip for off trail skiing. You are right on the borderline of Fischer's sizing chart so you could go either way, but I think it is good advice to include your ski clothing and typical pack weight when using their sizing chart.
