@lilcliffy Gareth sold the old version, after I skied the new version. I wouldn’t have used them.
I do have some camber and rocker comparisons on a book mark.

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 Xplore vs Ingstad BC
Responding to Ingstad vs FTX in another thread-
The FTX will definitely have a shorter turn-radius than an equivalent-length Ingstad BC-
The Ingstad will definitely track more efficiently with its flat, stiff, tail.
I remain unconvinced that a FTX will offer any more float/stability in deep snow than an equivalent-length Ingstad.
I am also unconvinced of the trail-breaking tip preformance of the traditional, triangular raised tip of the Ingstad, vs the lower-profile, round tip of the FTX-
the tip of the FTX is designed to encourage planing at downhill speeds- not break trail.

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 Xplore vs Ingstad BC
My interpretation of the above is that the Ingstad is a good turning ski that may have a trail breaking advantage in the backcountry over the FTX 62, while the FTX 62 is a very good back country ski that has superior turning capabilities. I am sure the advantages in the backcountry can swing between both skis pending snow conditions and the user.fisheater wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 10:19 pmThe FTX will definitely have a shorter turn-radius than an equivalent-length Ingstad BC-

As you know from the other discussion on this forum that I am considering purchasing one of the two. I am leaning towards the FTX 62, but I am now taking the Ingstad into consideration as it seems to be the proven backcountry ski over the years while the FTX 62 is on its third iteration.
Will the Ingstad be redundant in a quiver that has the Excursion 88? The FTX will clearly be a different ski.

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 Xplore vs Ingstad BC
Yooper, I haven’t skied or even laid my hands on an Ingstad. However based on Lilcliffy’s numerous reports over the years it’s a great deep snow touring ski that turns.
By the way, in you last post you actually quoted Lilcliffy.
If you want my advice, I’ll give you my opinion. If you are mounting NNN-BC buy an Ingstad. If you buy an Ingstad go 205 cm. I have gone 10 cm on Asnes recommendations and I think it’s a good rule of thumb.
If you’re going 75 mm buy the 196 cm FT X. If you’re considering an Ingstad there is no reason not to buy an FT X at 196 cm.
Lastly if you are going 75 mm go Rottefella Super Telemark with cable. There isn’t really a good reason to go 75 mm without the cable option. I think NNN-BC is better downhill until you add the cable on many boots.
I just ordered a Voile Traverse riser that I will remount my Rotte ST on my FT X with. I want the ability to clip the cable on the heel piece, then it is quite easy and quick to attach to my boot for downhill control.
This is my opinion based upon what I know, with the exception that the Rotte ST is superior for leather boots. That can be proven.

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 Xplore vs Ingstad BC
Based on the recommendations from this discussion and the one below, I purchased the..........Ingstad 205 cm due to the "ludicrous" speed that can be gained....
.
http://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.p ... f&start=20
I have read and reread the reviews and other posting on both the Ingstad and the Falketind Xplore 62 a number of times and I could not resist the Ingstad, although I was on the verge of adding the FTX to my quiver a number of times. I figured that the Ingstad will be a great ski for the type of skiing that I will be doing in my area. I also concluded I would not be able to full advantage of the downhill capabilities of the FTX 68 in my area, maybe next year I will give it a try.
Looking forward to the first test...
Thanks for the advice and feedback.

Sweet! I also just ordered Ingstads, in 195 for me. I’m leaning toward NNN-BC for them, which would be the first time I use that system (all 3pin now).YooperXC wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:29 pmBased on the recommendations from this discussion and the one below, I purchased the..........Ingstad 205 cm due to the "ludicrous" speed that can be gained.....

Report back how you like them. I’ll do the same.

Were you able to clip the cable to the heel piece? Did you go with 10 mm or 20 mm Voile riser? I am considering a similar set up on Madhsus Panorama 78 paired with Crispi Bre boots.

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 Xplore vs Ingstad BC
I went with the 10 mm Voile riser. I had to file the plastic on the riser where the back of the binding plate interfaced with the ball of the foot portion of the riser. I took my time, probably I spent an hour per riser. Everything went together well. I was also careful in mounting the heel piece. I placed the boot in the binding with the cable tension properly adjusted on the boot. I then placed the heel piece to work with boot and binding.metamorphosis108 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 8:55 pmfisheater wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 7:30 pmYooper, I haven’t skied or even laid my hands on an Ingstad. It works well, I am pleased with the set up. It is very easy to go from heel piece to boot with the heel throw, and back to the heel piece.
