Booze
Re: Booze
Its pretty rare that i bring booze in the backcountry. I'm usualy just in such a hurry but I almost half to at the resort, which is where I am at a lot. Not my preference but I have 4 kids and it is what they want to do. Chairlifts give me anxiety, it's not the height, I just get very antsy when I'm outside standing still. I much prefer the shuffle of skis on the ascent even if I do get fewer runs and the resort I go to (Purgatory outside of Durango, yes I'm calling it out by name because they have the worst attitude towards uphill of any resort) has zero tolerance for uphill. Some people look at me crosseyed when I crack a beer open on the lift when I'm with my kids and maybe they have a point but I am not paying resort prices for a beer. I'd rather just have a bad habit and not go broke doing it rather than have a bad habit and go broke.
