Anyone have an Idea where I can grab a set of Combat Nato in North Amercia?

For @LTDinPNW, will you be more focused on downhill, or the tour? Also, do you know if the Breidablik has nordic rocker? For the sake of getting something different you could go with whichever of these 2 is most different, i.e. if Breid has rocker, get the NATO; if it doesn't, get the Ingstad for some better downhill.

P.S. La Cordee only ships to Canada. Call The Norseman in Calgary if you are set on NATO, same price 750cad plus shipping and I think they had two left in 210cm several months ago.

I’ll be at Norseman tomorrow night for a waxing seminar- I can have a look then.

The Breidablikk is an edgeless Combat NATO (which is the same geometry as the original Ingstad)- which does not have any rocker.
The current Ingstad may have the same overal sidecut as the Breidablikk, but it has a tapered and significantly rockered shovel.
These two designs perform very differently- despite their almost identical width and overall sidecut.

I’ve been in conversation with Norseman this morning. They informed me that the NATO is not available in waxless. I’m looking for waxless model, so they are point me towards Ingstad. Sounds like sizing is similar to Briedablikks, and you suggesting the new Ings have rocker… is making me quickly move towards that ski in the 205.

Thanks, that's what I thought but wasn't positive. So if guy wanted to vary his quiver more, plus get some further downhill ability, he would be better off with an Ingstad than the NATO. He basically has a NATO, sans edges. That said, if it's a good ski for him it's a good ski for him.

@LTDinPNW sounds like Ingstad waxless then eh? Good luck and I hope you enjoy!

I find it generally works well enough. There are a few places of slippage, but nothing I’ve not worked with for years in XC skis, and nothing I don’t think a set of those short skins couldn’t fix.
