Yeah Stowe at 98$ for a day ticket is freaking expensive... But still, it's totally worth it... Still my favorite resort in the east... Perfectly groomed trails, lighting fast lifts, great terrain... But yeah, who can afford it?
I think the cause of this whole backcountry craze is yeah, part ski movies and mags, and part lift ticket price...

Good picture....Kinda on the cool side out west.....does that portend anything? Our earliest nearby in local hills is October 8, 2000 and also the eighth in 2001 but not since....TM
