The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Witty and urbane? I've never heard those terms in reference to me. Usually crude and asshole are more common... and lately it's been whiny teenage girl
Anywho... in regards to snow forts. I would LOVE to have a place like that in the Adirondacks. In fact I spend many hours devising ways I can afford to buy a small bit of off-the-grid land to build a small, one room cabin for skiing. I know it's a modest dream, but alas I'm not a rich man. I'm just a lowly engineering grunt who married a teacher with a ton of debt. So it goes... we have fun anyway we can.
Ron - be nice to Dong. He's not provoking you. Why are you provoking him? Why don't you go ski where he wants to ski? Give something else a chance. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time left this year to ski the Lookout.

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Noshow,
You have very odd Montana friends..Half of Missoula skis lookout with regularity.. Snowbowl gets hard and icy pretty fast and has not nearly the snowfall.. Yesterday 4 of my Mt friends showed up , all old alpine racers, and we had a great time racing down the "bunny hills" at lookout..All agreed that it was the best groomed snow of the season -soft, sugary, and fast!
We'll be going down to LosTrail before the season is over..and i am sure we'll see you there you big 'ol sockpuppet you!
If not, just take your pick : Mt Spokane , Silver, Schweitzer, 49 Degrees North, lookout, Blacktail, or maybe Big Mountian ?
Or how about Bluewouldn't or Spout Springs ? Ahh, something wrong with each according to your "friends" I am betting..
Yea, I would just show ol' Aaron how to NOT lean into the hill, dragging his uphill arm! But no matter, he's moved on to AT and maybe he's not hugging the hills anymore ?

YO Noshow, it's currently 37 and raining at the summit of Stevens Pass..It's 28 with an inch of fresh at Lookout..Yea, the weather has gone to hell here by Friday, just like you predicted! It's going to hold through mid-day tomorrow and then possibly warm to the upper 30's..Hmm, guess who knows weather around here and who not ? Enjoy skiing the mud at Mission bro,,

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
I didn't know everyone in MT lived in Missoula.
That sounds fun skiing the groomers. You say you are racing, is it a beer league?
In March I'm planning a trip to your area. I want to ski 49, Red, Schweitzer, Whitefish and I want to swing south and hit Disco, my friends say the back side is really great. I'd also like to continue south and try some of the other areas like LT, Brundage, etc. don't know the area, does this sound feasible?

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
I have no idea why it would not be "feasible" ..just driving in a circle of sorts..49 is fun, very much like Mt Spokane, very similar mountain..Schweitzer is nice at times, though a lot of my friends who ski there spent almost all of dec and 1/2 of jan at lookout because of the poor coverage this year ..Why you would pass by Lookout and not stop when you are about 50 feet from it on the highway and it has some of the best coverage in the whole damned lower 48, I have no idea..nor does it affect me .. Why not also stop in sunvalley, bogus basin, anthony lakes (you'll have to backtrack a bit to get to Brundage) and Tamarack..And the ski hill in Grangeville ("Snowhaven") and Cottonwood Butte ? And then hit your "home" mountain , Bluewood ..Right
Let me say it again: we won't ski together BECAUSE you are a certain someone's sockpuppet..and all that superficailly googled data only makes it MORE obvious ..
Put up or STFU !

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
Who's puppet is he (she?) Ron?
I hate the puppet game. You're obviously not good at it either. You've guessed like a million different puppets to be me, and I have none. Ask the admin, I'm the only person under this IP address, I guarantee it. Quit being so paranoid... you been into that good Colorado weed?

Re: The Ski Lite / XCD thread
I think Ron still lives in Spokane, why would he need CO weed?
I probably would stop by Lookout if I was on I-90. My home mountain is in CA, like I said I'm only here for a few months working on a project and the I will have three weeks off at the end of March and first week of April. So I likely would continue south after my trip through NE WA, BC, ID and MT.
I'm not sure what a sock puppet is, but no one is directing my actions and I resent that implication. I did google the ski resorts in the region because I've never been there.
Why do you continue to insist I travel to see you Ron? Why don't you travel to see anyone? Lookout may be nice but it certainly isn't the center of the ski universe.
