Re: Let's see your 16-17 quiver!
Nice - what are you going to put on the Eon/XCD-GT?? Good NNN-BC ski there

Re: Let's see your 16-17 quiver!
yep. I've got some nnn bc manuals for them. need boots tho.
Re: Let's see your 16-17 quiver!
The Alaska NNN is a great boot, but if you have heel retention problems with the 75mm version, forget it. It's a ton stiffer.

188 Megawatts
185 Justices
191 Chargers (Fresh!)
and 182 G3 Tickets (might have "borrowed" some bits off the bindings....)

As soon as I put bindings and a few days on 'em, I'll let you folks know! Just from holding them they are light and pretty stiff. Should be a perfect "reasonable" powder ski still capable of daily driving.
Re: Let's see your 16-17 quiver!
And how do you like switching between the Axls and Switchback X2s? Seems like that would require a little adjustment, particularly if/when you're dropping down to a lower activity level.

New skis, bindings, boots:

Pretty psyched about this addition. Been skiing the Epoch on the 3pin cables at Smuggs for 4 years. Grabbed the Femme's at the local consignment shop. Like them well enough, was skiing those in the T4s.

The Epochs go with the Karhu leather / pleather boots, or the T4s. The Femme Fatales go with the T4s or the new T2s. The Nanuqs go with the T2s.

Re: Let's see your 16-17 quiver!
It doesn't bother me any. I ski Axls on the middle setting, and the X2s are slightly softer, but not much. I had normal switchbacks and targas before the X2s and would switch between those and hammerheads at hole 3. Usually takes a turn or two to remember how to ski a different binding, but it is basically the same thing.dnt_upton wrote:And how do you like switching between the Axls and Switchback X2s? I will say that the X2s don't seem to have the guts to drive megawatts in a tele on firm snow. Great in softer snow, but an Axl might fair better driving them on groomers. Not that I bought megawatts to ski groomers....

Re: Let's see your 16-17 quiver!
Hello all! I'm new to the forum, and this seems like as good a place as any for my first post.
I've been XC skiing all of my life. Grew up in lower, central Michigan skiing on longer wooden skis each year from the local ski swap. I still have the last pair of Bonnas that I was skiing on in high school. Been living in Colorado for 20 years now, where I have gradually embiginated my skis until I ended up telemarking. The only alpine skis I've ever owned were Volkls that I traded for a case of beer and then given away not long after I got them...
I current have the following skis:
Black Diamond Crossbow - 187 with O3 bindings and T2 boots.
Madshus Epoc - 195 with Voile cables and Alico Backcountry Touring leather boots
Tua Escape Waxless - 200 with Riva Z bindings and the Alico boots
Rossignol Cobra skate skis
The wife and kids are skiing on:
Karhu Kodiak Kinetic - 200 with NNN-BC bindings
Karhu XCD GT - 195 with NNN bindings
Whitewoods Whitetail - ??? with NNC-BC bindings
I love reading about everyone else's adventures and experiences. Thanks for all of the interesting posts!
