The picture in your mind is worth more than a few pixels on a screen.

MikeK: Teleman habitually misses the point. You and I both know he's been this way since long before we started skiing or were born even. I don't think our arguments ding his ignorance. I'm going to let it go because there's no return on my time and energy. If he wants to think he and his buddies are the gods of telemark, then so be it. It doesn't change what I do in the least, other than arguing at him from time to time. Teleman is not the only person in the world who thinks that posting a constant stream of photos of themselves and talking themselves up on the internets makes them relevant.

Oh I know... I usually don't bother... just I had a little run in with our old friend Ron on tele east sharing some info with the natives there. Don't know why, they could come here. Anyway, it brought back old times

Funny thing is, and I know I've probably said this before but I bet Teleman and myself would probably never have a bad word between us in real life.

Ask the one guy that knows me on here, I'm almost always smiling... very rarely cranky. I'm not really a great speaker, so I don't talk in the depth I write. I like to joke around and laugh, I'm not all that serious. I'm interested in almost everything and listen intently on what people have to say. I almost never talk about politics. A lot of the things I really cherish most I have in common with him. I like beer and food, and almost any food... I always have had good relationships with people older than me - I like to hear their stories and experiences. I come from a hick rural town where racism, sexism, conservatism, etc, etc, were prominent, and although I don't care for it, know how to deal with it.

What I don't care for are those stigmatisms running around in a place conducive to learning. I'm serious. I learn a lot of stuff here. If you don't want to learn anything, fine... but don't stifle those that do. Share your stories, pictures and opinions but don't expect to be taken seriously if you cannot think and adapt. The internet is simply a form of communication. Use it how you will.

Teleman,

In case you forgot, these skis have the most miles of any we have:

Image

They are my wife's main touring ski right now.

Notice:

Leather
Skinnies
Pins
Double Camber

That is all

If she likes the wax USGI skis we have, next year I'll buy her a pair of Asnes Cecelie's for her birthday.

We ski the way we do because we like skiing that way.....I put up pictures of Buds doing their thing....Your responses to that are what they are....I write about getting into the gonz....if people like reading it then that makes me feel good....If people don't like the writing there are plenty of other threads to look at....Why respond at all? We use the equipment we use because it works and is a blast to ski....We could switch to other stuff in an eyeblink and ski it from day one....We all love being out in Nature...that's the essence of our common Telemark experience...I jokingly put up stuff like PINS, CAMBER, SKINNY, LEATHER and it gets a humorous response....Why I don't know....If you don't like reading about some nobodies having a blast stirring up snow in the forest....so be it....Con-man I don't expect to hear from you again....You don't like the writing...see ya....I can only hope that there are like minded nuts who either do this kind of thing or are in the process of getting into it....I WANT TO HEAR OF OTHERS RELATING THEIR STORIES so I can spew coffee on my computer in laughter....It's about all of us Mike....Everybody who PINS UP has a story to tell....I want to hear them....TM

I don't know if you notice but I use the skinnies and leather, pins, and DC as humor as well. Hell I created a whole summer bike thread on the premise of skinnies and leather! I also ski them, and other things... I also don't care how good people think I am at skiing.

We enjoy your stories, and the humor. The one-sided diatribe, not so much...

Hey Teleman, radical idea: start your own forum! You can review gear, offer helpful suggestions, provide insight into new and different gear and techniques, and make everyone feel included: you know, like you do here! If you want some forum name suggestions, shoot me a PM and I can provide you with a long list of some real gems ;)

I don't recall if I ever said it or not, but I once had the idea that Teleman and the rest of the KTB should start a blog. You know a place where they could dump photos and have commentary with no fear of censorship or banishment for whatever they wanted to say.

Anyway, I know Teleman isn't exactly the most computer literate dude, but I'm SURE he could find someone willing to help him with that.

Ha, Shakespeare said it best....con-mon....."Be gone Old Man".....Will continue doing what I do, in spite of you ....Jealousy is not a nice thing to bring into the open.....Makes you look kinda small.....But con man you can get back into MY good graces by sharing some good stories of your band of brothers hitting it hard on the Upper Peninsula...Mike concentrate on your skiing and when you get a chance come on over with LJ.....I don't take people any where but where they are comfortable.... Had a person Luca Gasperinni cruise with us up on Teleknob..... He writes and photographs for many international Magazines.. He went to Jay Peak and the boys up there showed him their version of big boy skiing.....When he came here to do some BC for an article he was writing, we took him to Teleknob.....200 verts....Shot him down to Dead Moose Pond....Tons of silence.....Back up we went to the original Telecamp got a fire going....So Luca says whata ya gonna maka....Spaghetti? Laughter....Smoke getting to us we threw on some steaks...Before long he says to his skiing buddy....Why don't we do this?....(back in the Dolomites!) If we head up into the Highlands there are many ways to head them down from ledge jumping to laid back arcing areas....King and kid hit the ledges....I hit the laid back......By the way Luca looked like a Roman Senator and didn't the girls up at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center enjoy having them around.....We did too! TM

Teleman, Hope you take me serious but I think everyone on this forum is good people and would ski or hang out with any of them.

You may not see anything in 'Con man' but I sure do. He's smart, funny, helpful and knows a thing or two about gear and skiing. I like him as much as anyone on here.

Greatest thing about this forum... you probably don't know and no one uses them but there are friend and foe categories. I wouldn't put one single person in the foe category. I can't say that for any other ski forum, or any other forum in general.

Do you remember when Johnny used to greet people with:

"Welcome to your new favorite forum!"

and say "make this place what you want, make it something cool"

I used to laugh a little and think he was whacky.

Somehow it happened...

It didn't turn out to be ALL THINGS TELEMARK, but it did turn into something, and that's more than nothing. I still don't know how.

It wasn't Johnny and me... I was here before it became that way. And Johnny long before. And Johnny and I are about as different as two guys can get... I dunno Tman, I think you should enjoy it.
