Ha! Yeah I guess if you have the power to paddle up them... sometimes in a 16' tandem canoe even the smallest riffle can stall you right out and send you back the other way.

I'm headed to lake country tomorrow. It will be nice to get out in the boats and do some swimming.

Spotted 7/4/16 at 8am from our canoe. 'Merica.

Sorry it's a terrible backlit cell phone pic - but it's a bald eagle if you couldn't tell ;)

Yeah, yeah... it's a horrible picture  But I had to have some kind of proof!

We also spooked up a turkey in the woods later that day (what could have been our national bird). They are all over up there, usually by the road scratching up in the ferns. It's always cool to see one take off though.

I bought a "new" 1959 canoe last month that at the last minute I came up with the idea to call it my wife's anniversary present. It ended up that she loves it and now we each have a wood canvas canoe for those evening solo paddles.

Even though the picture is out of focus for some reason I still like it, it looks like an impressionist painting.

Wow - nice rig!

I like the picture too - it looks like an old newspaper print.

Just wondering, is squirt boating the telemarking of watersports?

Discuss...

Hi iceclimb. I think the tele eqivelent to watersports would have to be done with a single bladed wooden paddle in a traditionaly shaped canoe capable of covering miles as well as whitewater and be able to haul gear.

I'd definitely buy that analogy.
