I am not sure what I think about this. I would like to see what sort of plastic-fake-snow rash you get after catching an edge and going headfirst into the stuff. I would guess it is probably not any worse than the refrozen man-made snow ice chunk stuff that I learned on.

Powder skiing in the trees last weekend, in NY State. We don't usually have conditions like this, and true to form, last night we had some frozen rain and sleet. So much for the powder. But we got some!

You have been having it pretty good MSU, lots of snow and few people.

It's a slow chair and my first circuit was 8:53....by run 11, my circuit time was 11:13. 2 more runs to escape and I'm completely worn out.

It was great while it lasted though. Were you on those Vectors I recommended to you a few years ago?

Was it one person per chair because of covid?Montana St Alum wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 4:37 pmAlways better to be lucky than good!!lowangle al wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 4:35 pmYou have been having it pretty good MSU, lots of snow and few people.

I'd rather ski an area with a slow chair and not have to kill yourself to get the good stuff than be on the high speed detachable quad and be left with pillows after the first run.

No, it just doesn't seem to get very crowded on that chair, and I would like them to slow it down more! I like the recovery time for sure. But Deer Valley is very good about letting you ride alone if you want.lowangle al wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 4:52 pmWas it one person per chair because of covid?Montana St Alum wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 4:37 pmAlways better to be lucky than good!!lowangle al wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 4:35 pmYou have been having it pretty good MSU, lots of snow and few people.

I can tell what run I'm on by the lift tower at which I've recovered.
This is looking back at the line:

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Man, what a great day. We finally got some decent powder.
Skied the FT62 (188), which I was not so happy with on the way up, but pretty happy with on the way down.
With the snow as deep as it was, I was wondering how the Ingstads (205) would have done with more surface area, and maybe better glide downhill (but I’m not complaining!).
If it didn’t get dark, and if my legs didn’t give out, I might still be up there!
