I am not sure what I think about this. I would like to see what sort of plastic-fake-snow rash you get after catching an edge and going headfirst into the stuff. I would guess it is probably not any worse than the refrozen man-made snow ice chunk stuff that I learned on.

Powder skiing in the trees last weekend, in NY State. We don't usually have conditions like this, and true to form, last night we had some frozen rain and sleet. So much for the powder. But we got some!

It's a slow chair and my first circuit was 8:53....by run 11, my circuit time was 11:13. 2 more runs to escape and I'm completely worn out.

Was it one person per chair because of covid?

I'd rather ski an area with a slow chair and not have to kill yourself to get the good stuff than be on the high speed detachable quad and be left with pillows after the first run.

No, it just doesn't seem to get very crowded on that chair, and I would like them to slow it down more! I like the recovery time for sure. But Deer Valley is very good about letting you ride alone if you want.

I can tell what run I'm on by the lift tower at which I've recovered.

Man, what a great day. We finally got some decent powder.
Skied the FT62 (188), which I was not so happy with on the way up, but pretty happy with on the way down.
With the snow as deep as it was, I was wondering how the Ingstads (205) would have done with more surface area, and maybe better glide downhill (but I’m not complaining!).
If it didn’t get dark, and if my legs didn’t give out, I might still be up there!
