Ok, so my favorite store, Marmot Mountain Works in Bellevue is unfortunately closing (thanks to Evo and a lack of snow). So if there is a time to buy, and support them for the last time, this is it.

Anyways, I've been moaning and groaning about being able to ski a little bit harder lines with a pair of stiffer boots. Right now I'm in T2s, which are great, and will be my go-to boot for tours.

Here is the big question. Do I go with the tried and true T1s, or nut up and go with the NTN friendly Terminators????

Never been on NTNs ever.

Also if there is another boot you recommend, I'm all ears (or eyes), Scarpa is the only boot I've gone with so far.

My foot is a bit narrow.

TX if ya want olny 3 buckles, TX Pro otherwise - they're not too stiff either.

TX Comp is stiffer but has no tech fittings, so IMO no point in buying them (TTS is light).

You will have a little surprise, going from T2 to T1... They feel like concrete boots... Depending on your binding, shoe size (usually shorter is stiffer) and your weight. If you are a big guy with long feet and a very active binding=probably the way to go. But I hate mine... Prefer my T2.

I'm actually only 150lbs and 5'9" so I think the terminator tx pros were the right choice here. Stiffer than my beloved T2s, but not as stiff and heavy as the T1s.

It also helped that I got a pair of new NTNs for under 200$.

T-race! No ski or slope or condition inbounds or out it will not handle..
Yea, the are stiff if you are coming from most
3-buckle options-- and you have to adjust if you have knee issues also..
75mm, not a tougher boot made! Pair 'em up with some 3pin Hardwires and
forget all 700 pages of NTN blather..

That is interesting that you would pair a stiff boot like that with a hardwire. I haven't any experience with them, but it seems like those would feel soft paired with a T-race.
Should have looked into those a bit more.

So, did You skied those TX Pros already? Howdya find'em?

Should have looked into those a bit more.

The 3pin Hardwire is a very capable and versatile binding..I do not
think there's a ski made that cannot be very effectively handled with
that binding and there's no boot that's too much for it ...
It's a very tough and simple binding..There's no issue at all using it
with the biggest, stiffest 75mm boots made..
More bang for the buck than ANY other binding!

I came from an Ener-G to the T-Race and fell in love right off the bat. I've been a T-race guy now for about 5 years and don't think there is a better boot out there. I was an early NTN adopter and Garmont boot tester (Prophet) and I've owned and skied the TX Pro, EVO, and Prophet and none of them hold a candle to the T-Race IMHO. It can handle the highest speeds, the biggest skis, steepest lines and the gentlest meadows. I bootpack and tour in them and don't want for anything different. I'm not light (#210) and don't ski light stuff but I know a few lighter skiers who feel like I do.

I wish. I was being impulsive and bought some NTNs that were long instead of short (the boot in 26.0cm).

Plus I need to pick up a pair of midfats to go with them. Or maybe convert my last pair of alpine skis to telemark (It's time).

But I was walking around in them(TX Pros) and I'm exited to see how light they are (just a bit more than my T2s). Also for my size and weight, they seem like they will be great for performance and stability as well. I'll have to see.

Maybe I'll update the forum with a little review once I get the NTNs sold and swapped.
