Lost ntn freedom powerbox knob --- anyone else?

Hey,
I've lost one of the two little blue knobs on my ntn freedom bindings (see pic) and I wonder whether I even need them.
It seems, that there are not only for easy adjustment of the springs but also give some initial tension on the
springs.
Do I need them?
