Loss of a great skier

You may have never heard of him, but my grandfather, Bernard Steimer, passed away last night.

He was an avid skier, back to the days when woodies and leather boots were the norm. He skied well into his 70s including yearly trips out west to ski the big mountains. Bristol Mountain in Bristol, NY was his main ski area.

RIP Grandpa! I'll ski a run for you next year!

Mike,
Your grandfather sounds like he was an amazing skier! Sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds like he skied difficult terrain into his 70's? He obviously set the stage for your passion for the sport. Was he an alpine skier, telemark skier or both?
