Montagne Noire?

A split-boarding friend recently mentioned it to me.
The dotted areas are designated "Telemark Zones". Sounds interesting!
Any of the Québec guys been there?
Would Eons + Alaskas be adequate? I get the impression that I might need skins.
Maybe it's time to start looking for a "medium" set up between NNN-BC + my heavy resort gear...

Here is what I think, bring both sets. If the eon the skinniest of the epoch, annum trilogy it is the same ski as my later model karhu xcd-gt. It is the worst downhill performing ski I own, and if conditions aren't good they will be a problem. They may work on the trails OK or if they groomed the tele areas they might work there too. If not and you want to make turns you will need the other gear. Good luck that looks like a nice area.

Salut Montrealer!
I have been there before!

The skin track to the top is very progressive so it makes it perfect for XCD. Nothing to steep that would require additional traction. The trails on the way down is not too steep either so it is the perfect place for XCD.
The Montagne noire is surronded by 2 other mountain, la grise et la blanche. They can both be skied but la Blanche have some trail on it.

The approach for la Blanche is long... La noire is better for a quick trip.
Let me know if you need a partener for this trip I might be in. I'm few minutes away from there.

Yeah if I go, I'll let you know! Looks like a fun place.
Unfortunately it's supposed to warm up this weekend...

hopefully we will get some snow afterwards. Just to be sure of getting some skiing in, I'm thinking of hitting mt. royal tomorrow before work and before all of this beautiful snow melts.

Salut Monsieur Montreal (wicked video in the other post btw!),
What is the contour interval on your map?

Good question, I doubt that it is 100 ft. It's probably metric, my guess 10 meters.

I checked on a larger map and it's actually 20m
