Anyone skiing on the G3 FINDr XCD skis?
https://ca-store.genuineguidegear.com/collections/skis

As a Canadian and a skier- I am very interested in G3 skis- a Canadian company from Vancouver.

As I haven't skied in the Western Mountains since 1999- I haven't seriously considered them...

That is- until I started thinking about a replacement steep and deep XCD ski...And- began to consider a ski as big as Voile's Vector BC for Nordic touring-for-turns....

Check out the price and specs:

G3 FINDr 94 XCD 172cm
price: $570CAN
sidecut: 126-94-113mm
weight: 2.96kg
made in CAN

Voile UltraVector 171cm
price: $900CAN
sidecut: 127-94-111mm
weight: 2.81kg
made in USA

Altai Kom 174cm
price: $450CAN
sidecut: 124-98-119mm
weight: 2.85kg*
made in CAN

*This is the weight of the 162cm Kom.

Anybody considering an UltraVector BC should seriously look at the G3 FINDr 94 XCD.

Also comes in 86mm and 78mm waist versions...
Nice.

Sweet ski.

A seriously upgraded Guide...Wonder how it compares in weight to the Guide and the S-Bound 112 and Rossi BC110?

You should seriously look at the K2 Pinnacle 95's. At 184 cm they are only 1.85 kg, much lighter than any BC ski mentioned above, and are 132/95/115. Wet, light, deep, firm, groom, chop, crud and slush they're a pretty badass ski. Rocker tips and single camber. Slight rocker tail. I ski the 177cm and love them. Turn radius is 15m. Mount alpine boot center with 22 Designs Axle bindings. Skin great. They just might be the perfect do-all Wet Coast tele ski. With all the "all mountain skis" out there these days, pure backcountry skis are a thing of the past. Not even sure why they sell "BC" skis anymore. Marketing nomenclature I guess attracts some, but the engineering development favors the do-all skis today. The Rossi Soul 7 is also an excellent tele ski.

Are the K2s waxless? With Voile anyway the BC indicates it's waxless.

Starting to be suspicious that the current BC110 might be a "cheaper" version of the S-Bound 112...

If I ignore the topsheet- it sure has hell feels like and S-Bound 112- and one would need a micrometer to measure the difference in width...

Perhaps the BC90 and Excursion 88 are not the only skis made in the same factory?

The discontinued BC68 was an older version of the E-99 made in the same factory with a cheaper base...

I would consider them- but at this point in my ski touring I am primarily interested in waxless-scaled bases or the integrated kicker skins from Asnes and Fischer. Thanks for the suggestion on the Pinnacle though- I would definitely consider it if I was skiing in the western mountains.

Isn't that 1.85g per ski- 3.7kg per pair? The weights I posted above are per pair...

No- that's why I was comparing the FINDr XCDs with other touring skis that have scaled bases.

In addition- because it has the integrated kicker skin- instead of scales- the Asnes Eggi 98:
Asnes Eggi 98 176cm
price: $~900CAN
