Went ip to Teleknob yesterday and it was good....Teleking had on his newest set of Wide skis high tech bindings and plastic hulking boots....They almost beat me up and there I was about to head down the steeps in a new rig....They MELTED the slope they were so fast....The edges were so sharp some whips laid dying.....Come around...F that....they don't need to come around....Just shooting bliss.....Will hit again today with my new rig....TM

Teleking, Telekid, Snowshoe Donny and I headed up into the Highlands....Anywhere from 4 feet to 6+ for base and the corn was getting sweeter by the shuffle and glide....Had to put on wax three times while the Boys had bones....Over three and a half feet of snow in front of the door......Early February over 6 feet in front of the door and our snow shovel is somewhere under it....Food was brats, onions, T Bone and beer which I am drinking in small amounts.....Boys did some jumping catching some decent air....Had my long range lens on and needed to have the short lens up close to do what they were doing justice....On the out it was very good with very sweet corn and you could head down anything making slight adjustments and turns were initiated....Drop a sharp drop.....and then ride up a bank and angle over for a repeat....Good skiing......TM

Mud roads and 30+ gallons of sweet syrup.....Yesterday or the day before......headed into the hills and near the gap in between two ranges...(one really!)...all the trees had @ an eighth of a inch of ice.....as did the snow....Put Red wax on and it was still slippery...Side stepped up a rise and the skis slipped off the hill for a shoulder roll and a big grin....Woodpeckers also sounded off....Headed back!!!!!!! To the Highlands expecting nothing but hardpack when to my wonder....what did appear.....two inches of pow on a solid base....POWDER????? wasn't expecting that.....so the wax on the base of my skis was RED...Uh-oh.....changed my plans from a long ranging ski to a knob...Tele Knob....and the Red was awesome going up....Went up stuff that no bones could....Up anything and so it was....Every tree limb was music to my bases as I rubbed the RED wax....the skis got faster near the top....A perfect stump got them real good and off I went and.....it was so good especially after a feeling that it would be an ice run.....With the base we have up there 4 feet plus a shot of 8-10 powder would make this some of the greatest skiing of any time...Fingers crossed....Thinking we have made @ 40 gallons of syrup....Oh yeah!...Corn and POWDER and syrup....Yummy!!!! TM

Repeat!!!!! Except I used the newer and longer e109's and they were DYNO-------MITE.....Had red on those suckers and up they went....Can't believe and skin would have done better....Scraped off the red with a knife and off I went...So sweet! Turn so fast and fast turning was needed...Low to moderate slope was more than enough....Many rounded turns and the skis deposited when angling a mass of powder under the base...Felt like riding in deeper powder than there was...Is that a figment of skinny?????...Probably make some more syrup today and the temp is just above freezing.....But those 109's are calling.....TM

Be making some more "sugar" soon....have to miss skiing but will be at it again.....On the Asnes.....What would be the "BEST" in the skinny ski realm....Have to cruise well and love turning....Since I have the 109....82-60-70....Do they have something in that range but not the same as the above? TM

Teleman,
From what I read the Ingstad compares to the E-109, now it seems as though the guys prefer the Ingstad, they are similar, why buy two similar skis unless the E-109 just isn't quite what you want? I would suggest you take a look at the Falketind 62. This ski is 62 mm at the waist, and weighs less than my Gamme 54. The FT 62 is single cambered ski, it is dead on hardpack. However, it comes to life in as little as 4" of snow. It does have a lot of sidecut, but it kicks along okay in soft snow, and it is a turning machine in the downhill. I have a Fischer S bound 112, which I have not been on since I bought the Falketind. The Falketind can ski hardpack downhill much better, and I like the FT62 better downhill in powder as well. On the trail the FT 62 is way better in soft snow, and while it wanders on hardpack and as it is flat cambered, the wax pocket drags. I find the S-112 more annoying.
The FT 62 does preserve a wax pocket in soft snow. I can explain how it works and have somewhere on here before. If you are interested I'll find it for you. Lastly, I have not broken the FT yet. It has busted me up, but it is still going strong.

Asnes makes a lot of different skis - the NATO Combat is 84-62-74, Ingstad is the same dimensions but lighter with more rocker. Breidablikk is the same dimension but with no edges. Even with the E109 you'd still like any of these.

Gamme 54 is the same dimensions as E99, more camber for long distance. They also make "Nansen" which has more of a tele ski flex and is shaped more like Sbound 78. Any of these would be good, you might want to check in the fall and see what Neptune Mountaineering ordered for next year.

Figure 109's are good but would love to ski the Asnes that are close to the 109's dimensions.....I really don't care for wide and short skis....Have the 215's (99) for cruising the 205's for anything the 109's for anything....the Rebounds for certain conditions....have nothing that would help on the slopes...(downhill)....BUT....Stowe closes this week and that means ski up....ski down....Good corn...any of the skis I have can handle it....C will have to read the dimensions of Asnes.....and their weight.....The Rebounds have an 88 tip and that is about as wide as this old boy will pay any money for....TM
