I remembered you had an Ingstad, when I recommended Gamme. I guess you should consider how the E-99 works for you, if you can easily compress the wax pocket on the E-99, then the Nansen could be nice to have when spring corn season comes. However if the E-99 is too cambered, then you could use a ski in that class. And Gamme is a nice ski. The drawback is Ingstad will be slower on kick and glide than Nansen.
Bottom line, your quiver misses Gamme!

Snow, the gateway drug!

It is taking a great deal of effort to restrain myself from clicking "Buy."

Revelations.
I'm sure others have seen this already, and I had seen it before, but now it has new meaning.

What is going on here? What is Pål Trygve Gamme saying -- Norwegian speakers, please speak up!

http://www.fftv.no/fjellskiskolen-ep-2-svingteknikk-22

Is he switching between Gamme and Nansen in the videos?
On the chart, why is the Nansen to the left of the Ingstad? (I would have expected it to be in between the Ingstad and Gamme?)

There is so much nuance here!

.
Here, on the big snowfield, I think he is on Nansen:

.
Here, demonstrating on a smaller patch of snow, I think Gamme:

.
Here, did he fall on purpose to demonstrate bad technique?
f.JPG
.
Similar snow, different skis, but it seems he chose the Nansen for the "real" skiing?
This is what I'm looking for, when / how to choose one ski over the other?

If you want to turn like Gamme does in the video, better go Nansen. I know that is very impressive if he is making those turns on Gamme.
Hopefully Nansen has a much softer camber.

My New Hampshire brother loves the E-99, I love my Gamme. If I could only have one ski (which is a horrible thought) it would be my Gamme.
As much as I love all of my different Nordic touring skis in their own special way-

This would be my answer for my local turing- even without the zombies chasing me. The Gamme would be the ski I could not give up- especially if the zombies were chasing me here in the hills!!!!!

BUT- our dear friend is not asking about one ski- is he?
He has lots of skis.
So it is not about choosing one ski.

@Stephen
You going to use a wax ski for consolidated Western spring corn snow?

I would be very surprised if the following statements are false:
- The Gamme 54 are more efficient touring skis than the Nansen.
- The Nansen are better telemark skis than the Gamme.
Yes.

And please do consider the Combat Nato in this deliberation- considering you are not prescribing a specific skiiing context.

For all I know the Combat Nato may be exactly the ticket...

But if you are looking for an archetypal Western Spring Corn Nordic tourin ski- isn't that a waxless-scaled ski?

I should really get on that review.

My take on Gamme vs Nansen:

Gamme = Horsepower under the hood, but you need the skills to successfully access and apply said power = Land Rover

Nansen = Everyman go-everywhere but not as fast or flashy = Fiat Panda
Love it.
