What powers your skis?
What powers your skis?
All this talk about big plastic boots and width underfoot gets me thinking, what powers my skis?
Seems for me it's a combination of carbs, fat, and protein (look away Johnny):
Bratwurst boiled in onions and beer, then finished on the grill. Onions sauteed in olive oil with beer. Spicy German mustard. Fresh crusty rolls. For dessert, you guessed it... a half liter of Bavarian Dunkel.
Here's to skiing at 6am!

Haha. It gets worse. I was planning on eating garlic perogies with these but my wife ate them on me.
I eat lots of fruit and veg too... but stuff like raw spinach and kale I can't eat. My system hates it.
This kind of stuff is in my genes. My body loves it!

The secret behind my 180 days of skiing every winter is very simple.
For me there's only 3 food groups: Sugar, booze and sprouts. Simply put, mostly this:

Re: What powers your skis?
The Bratwurst didn't work that well... plastic boots would have helped I'm sure...
Did some dh runs today mid-tour. Snow was better but my skinny 200cm Glittertinds were still sinking to the grass trying to turn. They felt like they were on rails. I dunno, I'm looking forward to trying those Annums. Not looking forward to ruining them on shit snow though.
It's still early... patience grasshopper.

Man I thought you were all healthy and shit. My sister is vegan so I guess I was expecting something more like her. She does drink a ton of booze though... must be part of the diet

For the downhill It's all gravity and a beergut.
Re: What powers your skis?
You'd think the uphill would help knock down the beergut, but it seems for me I can drink beer faster than I can climb hillsteledance wrote:For the downhill It's all gravity and a beergut.
Re: What powers your skis?
Rewarding the hike with a Barley Wine at the top of a climb doesn't help, and beer is a great analgesic for the post ski day.

Hahaha...I'm sure this has been posted before but 4:41 on sums up this morning's dh attempts.
