I just think that at 265 lbs. the bigger the ski the better. A lighter boot may work depending on the situation.

I have made the plunge and gone with the 112s in 189, along with Alpina Alaska NNNBCs. I am patiently awaiting them to come in hopefully this week. I can't wait to try them and post updates!

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Hhowden, I'm sure you can have a lot of fun on them but if you feel the need for more stability or higher performance go wider with bigger boots.

I just bought my first backcountry nordic skiing setup. I went with the Sbound 98, alpina alaska and NNN-BC bindings. Hope my area of New York gets as much snow as last year!
