I took it easy the other day and skied my driveway and street during a light storm that dropped about five inches of new snow.

It was fun to ski the light gear. I had to use xc boots to ski the bonna 1800 in 215 and the spoke 900s. The Bonnard didn’t want to turn so I didn’t really try but the epokes turned great. My conclusion on the light xc boots is that for me, I would only use them on a groomed Xcode trail.

The winner as far as best all around ski was the old 80s era karhu xcd-gts waxable. They were a much better experience than the later model WL version.

The second best ride was on the epokes. They would have been even better if I could have used my heavier Merrill’s. I think I’m gonna change the bindings on them and the bonnas so I can use the heavier boot.

Sorry about the spell check on the phone.

It was a fun time and I ended up getting about 2.5 miles with over 500 feet of vert.

Apology accepted. Lol. Those Bonnas look plenty long and straight. You probably will have better luck with the Comps.

The Bonnas did turn but because of their stiffness it was very slow in happening.

I no longer have the leather boots, but those skis remind me of the vintage quiver I have here in VT in the barn...

Was Karhru the bear made in Finalnd before K2 sucked them up?

I have a pair of older wooden Karhus with the bear on them, they might have been made in Finland. I thought the pair from the mid 80's were made in Canada. The later pair of no wax were probably mid to late 90's. They were more shaped and more lightly constructed and a lesser quality ski IMO, maybe they were made by K2.

I have a pair of those Fischer GTSs that are in your photo BB, they were a good DH ski.

Sweet, I love old skis. There's been a pair of Bonna's like those in a consignment shop around here that I always fondle when I go in. Always wanted to try a set of wood ski's. How do they ski overall? Would they feel slow/heavy in a groomed XC context?

I would snap those XCDs right up if I saw those, they look like they would run just fine to me.

Is that an older green e99 on the left? I like that color.... Also can I come over and race those slot cars?
