Asnes skis for husband

Hi All,
My husband has Asnes ski envy as i've been flying past him downhill on mine, weighing 70lbs less
.
I've been looking at the Nansen for him (he currently has waxless Fischer T78s) as the dimensions are similar. I have the comparable Cecile.
He weighs 185 lbs which per Asnes recommended recommendations puts him at the top of 195cm and the bottom of 200cm. Sometimes during winter hibernation his weight creeps up to 190.
Would you recommend the 195 or 200cm for his weight? Thanks!

I’m 190 lbs 5’ 9” I ski a 210 Gamme, I would recommend a 205 Nansen
BTW my dog likes her Chili Dogs coat, thank you. Viszla’s don’t really have a winter coat, she needed to put one on

@fisheater Oh nice on the coat! It's the only one I've found thats lasted. Went through a Ruffwear coat in one season but the Chilly Dogz made it 5 seasons before replacement!

I'm going to say the 200s, given his mild winter porkitude and a few kg for gear and that you specifically mention whizzing downhill...
I'm a little lighter than your husband and have the 195s and they're kind of perfect for me... I have longer skis for when hills don't feature so much in the equation (and don't tell my Gammes because I know having favourites is wrong, but I prefer my Nansens!)

I've owned several lengths of this ski.
Which are you answering YES to the most?
Is only climbing up hills to ski down with graceful telemark turns?
No flats?
Doesn't care about efficient kick and glide?
Long tours pulling a pulk?
Tight brush bushwhacking?
Beginner nordic skier in hilly terrain?
195
Intermediate nordic skier?
Consolidated snow?
Not a lot of deep snow?
Wants to turn a lot?
Towing a pulk?
Less athletic?
Likes shorter skis, generally?
Can't decide?
200
Expert Nordic skier?
Often get deep fresh snow?
Flatter terrain?
Wants to go straight fast kick & glide instead of turning?
Fast day tours where you want to cover miles?
Athlete Man?
205
I'm in NH, skiing in the White Mountain NF skiing forest roads and XC ski tour trails. When I weighed 160lbs I was on the 205. Now I'm 148 and on the 200. I'll prob stay with the 200 when I get back to my 160lbs inshallah. No problem, I can climb XC ski tour hills on this ski. It is my favorite ski. I am also an experienced skier and enjoy glidier skis over grippier skis. YMMV.
It's designed as a very forgiving approachable ski. It has very little underfoot secondary camber. If too heavy for the length your husband will get banana effect in deeper snow. If he is an expert skier he'll want the snap of the longer ski to support his kick. Avoid the 195 unless he is using this ski as a traditional telemark ski primarily climbing and then descending/down hills.

@randoskier Is her husband's name David? If so, they used to be neighbors but moved a bit farther out.
@Wooderson. Thanks for the detailed advice! I think for him the 200cm sounds best. He's not a beginner but not advanced/expert either.
