As far as the cables - the sanding they refer to is just to deburr them after you cut them to length.

I hope they don't as I would mind some t4's with a cable bindings for next years go to set up.

First they change their bindings to not work with thin bill xc shoes... now they threaten to stop making pins! What is this world coming to?!?

Nah! Quite the contrary actually... They redesigned a tried and true binding. In my book, it is good for XCD... It means that there's a market for it...

I have been thinking for a while that a 3 pin cable would do everything a HW binding would do for less weight and money. I'm just reluctant to put a binding with a 3 hole pattern on an expensive ski and risk ripping it out. Maybe this new binding with the riser is a four hole pattern.

I use both the HW's and the 3-pin cable bindings and IMO, the cables on the Voile 3-pin cable bindings are pretty much useless aside from providing a good backup in case the pins/boots fail. They offer little resistance or lateral support for the downhill and just make touring less enjoyable. Just my opinion though.

The Voile 3-pin hardwires are a different beast altogether. Those bindings are pretty good on the downhill and once the HW's are unclipped from the boots and onto the heel part of the binding or if you leave the hardwires at home, they tour like regular 3-pins.

It looks like the new Traverse 3-pin uses a 4 hole pattern for the riser, similar to the 3-pin HW.

2 solutions: epoxy and/or inserts... Unless you weight 600 pounds...
