Thunderbolt trail Mt Greylock Equip Question.

Gonna hit Mount Greylock on Friday mid-day on the way to VT from PA.

Wondering if my Madshus M62 with NNN-BC is enough of a ski or if I should just use my Tele gear and skins (Pariah 97/Outlaw and TX Pro.) Never seen that particular trail before.

Trying to keep it simple. And light.

Best, and thanks,
Mike

@waywardcyclist Here is some basic info from powder finder…

If you use Google Earth Pro (free) you can get a more detailed satellite view and using the Add Path, click on path, Elevation detail. You can get more details on slope % or angle (calculator).

Tom M has a video or two on YouTube on using Earth Pro.

Greylock is one of the tours written about in the latest version of Goodman’s book “Best Backcountry Skiing in the Northeast”. For each tour David offers his recommended gear, XC, Nordic backcountry, Telemark, AT, and snowboard. For Greylock the recommendation is Telemark, AT, and snowboard

Great trail ski! We hit it couple decades ago when there was a giant storm of epic proportions and did, we ever have an adventure. Long E99's and gawd we shot the entire trail with first tracks. What a ride. TM

I've got the original version of the book. Do you think it's worth the cash to get the updated one?
