Meidjo 2.1 upgrade report

I replaced the spring box with newer model with step-in and added the powder casing kit. Some observations worth to share:
Binding size L
Boot: Scarpa TX-Pro size 27
- I used the spring box body, I was concerned that moving the inner spring and parts from the old one might be difficult but not at all, very easy. The step-in works great, after I trimmed the lower part of the second heel. Before that it didn't work at all.
- The Scarpa shell size is the smallest for the size L binding (Same shell as 26.5 boots I think). and I couldn't use the wire for touring. because It interferes with the spring retainer nuts. I had to mount the heels a couple mm more forward because of an existing hole on the ski, probably without that it might have fit, not sure. But these are not my touring skis, so touring mode will see very occasional use. I thought that using the alpine heels instead of the wire would solve the problem, the height is just a bit more:
But it didn't work, the heel doesn't stay there, it rotates and comes off every 100m or so. I think it's because the boot heel is worn and rounded, don't intend to insist. I kept going with the normal heel raiser, was going up anyway.
I also have a pair of Crispi Evo 27.5, the sole length difference is considerable, I may adjust the alpine heel and use them, but the boot heel sticks out quite a bit from the binding heel, so I think I'll rather have two mounting positions for the heel + alpine heel, using inserts. It's even easier than adjusting the alpine heel. Did that on another pair of skis already.
On a side note: the Scarpa bellows are considerably softer than the Crispi's (old boot, so probably worse), it means readjusting the springs for the different boots.
