Asnes Mountain Race 48 Query

Post by Telemarkpete » Sat Nov 11, 2023 3:41 pm

Hi all,

Just purchased a pair of these - but like many in this forum - am obsessing about length. I got measured up at the Norseman Ski shop here in Calgary. After doing compression tests on several pairs of 200 and 210 length, I managed to find a pair of each length that matched my weight - currently 95kg and 5’ 11”. I decided to go with the 210’s as I will be using these 60-70% in track and 30-40% off track. I ski mainly in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on rolling and hilly terrain with some climbs. Did I make the right choice?

Clear to me the OP put in some time thinking about this to arrive at a solution that made good sense.

He’s going to have a blast this season on his new skis.

Oh man, you've got an easier choice. Definitely 210 the right choice for you-

Meanwhile I am stressing out with my mere 182cm and 70kg, but use 10-15kg backpack most of the time, and the rest without a pack or 15-20kg backpack

But I also got the 210s. Åsnes accidentally sent me the skin versions first, but now they have supposedly sent the waxable green ones my way. Will find out next week!

Snow is all we need at this time. It's going to be a winter full of joy on those speedy sticks!
