Scarpa F1 with Transit Questions

I am putting together a new lighter weight BC setup. Plan is for Voile Endeavor BC and Transit Bindings.

I found an older pair of well used F1 Race last year for nearly free and could also buy a like new pair of regular F1 boots.

A few Questions for F1 skiers:

1. Are the F1 races or standard F1's preferred for touring and turns?
2. How well do the F1's ski transits work together?
3. How do the F1's compare to a T2 type boot?
4. I also have excursion boots, would I be just as happy with the Endeavor BC and 3-pin hardwire (which I own)? Or is the range of movement of the F1 that superior?
5. What would a near new pair of F1's be worth to folks (especially given the new Tx $850 price point)?

F1 races don’t have a toungue so walk better but less support down

2. How well do the F1's ski transits work together?
Don’t know

3. How do the F1's compare to a T2 type boot?
Depends on which T2 T2X probably more support, older T2s F1 maybe taller and more supportive. I think F1 fit narrower than T2.

4. I also have excursion boots, would I be just as happy with the Endeavor BC and 3-pin hardwire (which I own)? Or is the range of movement of the F1 that superior?
More range of motion and more control, way easier to skin with free pivot. Could argue kick and glide better with Excursion. Also no mode changes with Excursion. No rocker launch with F! Is a big plus fro me.

5. What would a near new pair of F1's be worth to folks (especially given the new Tx $850 price point)?

Depends on buyer, but given the fact that they are getting harder to find, prices will likely go up.

For what’s it’s worth I have the F3 which are a little heavier then the f1s. The flex on the sole of the boot and bellows is not as smooth as a tele boot. It’s stiffer and not as natural. The boot skied fine with my transits and Ultravectors but it wasn’t anything to rave about. They were just lighter than anything available at the time and toured similar to a T2. I picked up the new TX Pro and it’s amazing. It feels like I’m wearing tennis shoes with how much cuff rotation it has in walk mode. They are also not much heavier than my F3s. The ski walk mode is solid and zero play unlike the old boots and feels great. Can’t wait to get them on snow.

If I were you I’d invest in the new Scarpa boot which will throw more wood on the fire for future development of other boots by Scarpa. But again depends on where you are gonna be skiing the Endeavor. If you’re just kicking and gliding and doing bunny hills the Endeavor/tts might be overkill.

I have a F-1 Race. I ski it with Voile Transit. I like the feel and flex of the boot. It is more powerful and precise than my T-4/3 pin Hardwire set up.
So what size is the F-1? Is it gen 1 or gen 2?
Most of the F-1/F-3 boots are quite reasonably priced. The new F-1 Race I purchased were about $200.

THat is what I was looking for. The like new F1's are $250 which seem a bit expensive given, I am holding a pair of F1 races which were pretty well used, but life left, of $28. Seems the F1 races may be better anyway.

Purpose of this setup is general touring for my wife with some chances of turns. Here in Colorado much of our skiing can be hairy hiking trails with good vert, so having an edgable and controllable ski is key. Almost all xcD skis have been a disappointment. Plush with going straight up and straight down, we still find that kick and glide is less important than control.

I found the f1/f3 boots to play well with the transit. The f3 flexes nice. The old green f1 sucks imo. The f1 race is really nice flexing. The transit and the new TXP is sublime! Skied it Wednesday!
