So after a few years of Telemark skiing my legs are splitting the seams of my pants. Literally I have split 2 pair of pants in the last 2 weeks. So I need to go buy new pants, preferably ones that fit. Do you guys know any brands that have wider thighs than the norm? I cant find anything that fits.

Oh and P.S. I'm new on the forum so it think I put in the right place.

The Northface Freedom pants (http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc- ... -pant.html) are 'relaxed fit' whatever that means, but they seem to have plenty of room in the legs, and as a chronic seam-splitter, they've served me well. I'm on my second pair. They come in long, regular, or short versions. They are pretty durable but not very fancy. They can usually be found new for under $100.

It's like the old tele saying goes " tighten your stance- save your pants " This problem was so prevalent back in the day that so many telemarkers got frostbite in sensitive areas that they were unable to reproduce baby telemarkers, hence the reason telemark is dying.

Yeah, happens to me too... I found only one solution so far: Ski with racing shorts and leggings!

Get leather knickers....When Teleking and I put them on...It's like putting your armor on...They take a whip beating with aplomb....the pungies don't penetrate....Only one problem....since we eat great food up in the hills and wipe the grease on the pants....some dangerous critters can be seen skulking in the shadows trailing us...TM

Where else besides a telemark forum would someone suggest wearing leather pants AND it's a good idea?

The Black Diamond Hybrid bib changed my life
I used to wear "normal" goretex pants for skiing, but it was stiff and lacking the freedom of movement.

This bib is super stretchy and I feel like I tele in pajama.
The other huge advantage of bibs is that they keep you away from getting snow down your back when you fall, plus it keeps the chest area warmer.
