Just fer fa fa fa fa, fa fa fa fun... since the forum is super dead... if you could pick one and only one ski to own, what would it be? Don't matter if it's old, new, something you owned, or something you want... what is it?

Not to be completely boring, but I would choose Guides in 185 or 195 length, mounted with 3-pin (no cable) bindings. Closest do-it-all ski I've owned. They might suck on groomers, but in a world where there's only one ski available, there most likely wouldn't be much grooming anyhow;)

Not surprising given your locale.

Also yes, in my little game here, you have to consider this ski will do all from flat touring to steep descending (well if you choose to do either of those) and handle anything from icy melt to deep pow.

If you so chose a groomer ski, as the vast majority of skiers would, you'd be stuck to that turf. Most people wouldn't complain about that, but I would ;)

Oddly enough I'd chose a ski and binding combination I don't have and have never used:

Madshus Wax Eon with 3 Pin (no cable) in 195cm

My thought is the wax would help it climb better than it's waxless brother. Pin obviously to help bring out it's DH qualities. Still skinny and straight enough to take on a long tour. Current ones have soft enough flex to turn.

The other I might consider is a S Bound 78/88 also with a 3 Pin. No wax option, and I'm not sure they'd climb as good as a waxed up Eon.

Rossi bc125. I know using fat skis is cheating but they are fun.
I like my wife's new 165cm with rocker more than my old 175 without.

It's not cheating... They're just heavier than other skis... 8-)
