In Otari, Nagano-pref, Japan.
Snow precipitation amounts to 18 meters (59 feet) per year.
They remove snow when the roofs have 1.5 meters (4.9 foot) or more, and they repeat that job six times a year at least.
Needless to say, we can get nice powder over there, but it gets too much for skiing sometimes.

You should take a tip from the auto and electronics industries and start exporting some to North America. We don't get enough in some places

Wooooah! That snow is so.... consolidated!!
I wonder why the guy decided to film himself doing this... Do you guys in Japan watch each other removing snow from your roofs? You film yourself so you can watch it several times later? Do you find it entertaining?

Probably, to carry on their tradition of the removal of snow by human power.

His technique is truly amazing!
In fact, everything you guys do is totally amazing. There's something about Japan...
I used to make a living by selling audiophile and vintage audio gear on Ebay... All the good stuff was always shipped to Japan... The biggest Mosrite guitars collectors are in Japan... The best XCD skiers are from Japan...
