Die Hard (of course!)
Trading Places (Thank you, Jamie)
The Thing (1982 then 1951)
Where Eagles Dare (Clint's sensitive portrayal of an Army Ranger is not to be missed)
Scrooged
Is 30 Days of Night too cliche'?

With kids, it's hard to beat The Muppet Christmas Carol
And almost any of the ones that were originally in black and white

These have grown to be staples for my family during the holidays:

- Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (Steve Martin, John Candy)
- Elf (Will Ferrell, Zoey Deschanel)
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo)
- A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (starring: WaffleBot)

Not a movie. A BBC radio production.

"Christmas Eve, 1957. Flying home from Germany, a young RAF pilot is alone in the cockpit of his Vampire.
Over the North Sea, the radio goes dead... An innovative adaptation of Frederick Forsyth's haunting classic Christmas tale, read by Luke Thompson and adapted for radio by Amber Barnfather."
