Re: Fischer Traverse Boots for Xplore Binding
Hey Theme- I come in around #220 so I don’t have difficulty keeping the ball of my foot down with any boot 🤣.
I just put on both boots you’d mentioned. The Pi Tech does flex/keeps the foot down considerably easier. I found it very supportive and was really pleased with the way it could drive different skis (it became a favourite when I was on the Metsäs). It feels lighter and less bulky than the Fischer. Its also easier (in my case anyway) to keep the heel locked in.
The Traverse is also supportive. Keeping the ball of the foot down is easy for me- the flex feels like its not as smooth as the Pi Tech. I have to work the laces a bit more to stop the heel from moving around (gonna try a different insole this year). Its my go to boot when temperatures are getting Swix Polar cold and it’s windy out. I wore these boots on a 20+ mile tour on the Green Man you found me- they were great for driving the ski breaking trail. It has that same finish that the other Fischer boots have. Still want to give them a go with a bigger ski (like the BC120) on a powder day.
