I left the anti-ice tape on the spring cartridges.
We used these to figure out what we (the wife and I) like in terms of spring resistance and activity level. Unbeatable combo for that purpose -- swap as many times as you like, even out on the hill.
New, this combo would cost ~$400+ to assemble.

Note that the screws to mount the plates to your skis are *not* included. They were torx head and the heads were a bit wonky/rounded when I removed them, so I tossed them.
