I'm looking for a cheap pair of old NTN plates and an old 4-hole NTN jig...
Thanks!

no replies eh?

Plates are good.
Jig would be nice but rare, no? I just reuse paper templates.

For hard pack skies I got a riser plate - fyi.

I thought it didn't make sense to switch bindings, 5 mins is way too long! But I'm so broke now that I would settle for plates instead of full bindings... : )

Well, I dunno about the jigs, the latest ones must also have the old mounting pattern too right? I guess shops must be throwing away the old NTN jig... Who is still mounting 4-hole NTN plates anyway?!?

I think most folks jettisoned the 4-hole metal plates, and even the 6-hole plates with all the cut-outs, as they seemed to be a contributing factor the the frames bending/cracking, with the thinking being the flexibility of those plates allowed too much flex in the binding (and contributed to exploiting the binding's initial flaws - frame cut-outs, brake cut-out, etc.). If you can track some down, I'd start looking to find the 6-hole (solid) metal plates if you can, or even go with the pink plates (but pretty sure only the last iteration of orange bindings will work on the pink plates).

For what it's worth, I run the 6-hole metal (no cut-outs) plates, and haven't had a single failure over the past 4 years of MN hardpack abuse, but I'm also on the first year's run of black bindings (before they switched to the pink plates). I'm not a small guy either (was at 210 lbs for a while - 5'11" - but down to 185 now). On my next pair of skis, I'll probably order up and start using the pink plates myself.

You're right Tom, but as a poor guy, I always try to aim for the cheapest option... If I get 6-hole plates, then it's bonus! : )

It's funny that while I just broke another toe cup this week, I never broke a single frame, even on the 2.0...

Well, there are a few folks on Backcountry with 4-hole plates for sale. Think one was Gunks and don't recall who the other was.

Johnny, I have a couple of older 6 hole metal plates. For you I would part with them for shipping. Send me an email since I don't post here.
