Easter at Mont Sutton, 20 avril 2014
What was i supossed to do this easter?
What are we celebrating anyway? The ressurection of Jesus-Christ? The restriction of the catholic church are pretty boring; you shall not work and attend Mass... arrrrrrkkkk
Where does that leave me on a sunday with a clear blue sky?
Of course I could watch the clear blue eyes of Robert Powell in the drama biography of Jesus of Nazareth but the 6 hours of the depiction of the life of christ are just not my style.
Ben Hur maybe with his 11 oscars? No... I don't think so.
Why not ski?
After all:
"It's better to go skiing and think of God, than go to Church and think of sport"
-Fridttjof Nansen
I admit, i commited a sin this year. I did not respect Lent. I did ski somewhere between Clean Monday to Lazarus Sunday.

I was supossed to meet Johnny Love at Sutton today around 13h00. That a bit late for me, I have kids and they get up early in the morning so I arrived at the moutain around 9h30.
Only a few trails were groomed overnight in the chairlift II area so I started up with that sector. There is still a lot of snow remaining. Even the woods in that sector (the lowest part of the mountain) had some sort of coverage...
The moutain did receive some centimeters of snow yesterday. I was even possible to make first tracks today Most people already switched to golf of bike, the attendance today was modest. Still, at least 30 trails were open with 5 of the 7 lifts spinning today. One of my favorite spot today. Unfortunately, my daughter did not like as much as me

To celebrate Easter, sugar on the snow was offered at the bottom of the moutain! Yummy
I had to watch the Urbi et Orbi (pope's benediction) by myself and light the cuban Paschal candle alone! So sad...
Selfie of me and my daugther in the chair!
Could you believe I did not come across Johnny Love for the whole day! I had to watch the Urbi et Orbi (pope's benediction) by myself and light the cuban Paschal candle alone! So sad...

Oh! J'avais pas vu ca...! Nice report bro!
Yeah I got there at 1pm... (Contrary to popular belief, I wake up at 5am everyday even if I don't work... But I would get bored of this mountain if I'd get there early... : )
I've been looking everywhere for you and your (two pairs of) Black Diamond skis...!!
Geeez.... I really missed all that fun?!? The free sugar, the carabins hat, the cool 4 yo girls AND the holy cigar?!?
The catholic church is pretty damn right... It's fact, it has always been my motto:
You shall not work.

Slowly but surely the Telemark's state of mind is getting in my genes...
I traded my black diamonds' skis for Scotty's Bob
For the first time in years I did not wear my helmet.
I'm now the proud owner of genuine bamboo ski poles....
I do not own a pair of leather boots yet but I guess everything comes to him who waits...
