You've got a way with words, and a way with editing. I've floated an ice encrusted river before, but only as a super tourist in early season coming down the Penobscot river in Maine... no ruck, no skis, same-day-in / same-day-out type of excursion. Your chronicled adventure is on a whole 'nother level.

How did you keep your batteries charged to take pictures over the duration of the trip?

Yes, those were my Kom's.

I skied those through the Sawtooths and then switched to the OB/BC's where we crossed the highway.

I carried a battery brick to recharge the camera batts along the way.

When the story first went up, I tried posting a comment on Blogspot, but it wouldn’t stick.
The write-up connected with me in an emotional way — very cool.
It really conveyed the epic scope of the undertaking in a visceral way, and I really enjoyed the story and pictures.
I think it’s worthy of print in some glossy mag, like Outside.
