Some retrowear can stay in the past.
I'll keep my wool pants and sweaters, thank you very much.
If you feel you need to wash your eyes after that little piece with the loftiness of The Carl, I offer this:
Phew, I'm already breathing easier.

For XC, pants and tops are more useful.
Sizes SM/M/L/XL--leaves out a lot of people that are short, tall, or larger than XL.

I can't believe it, either.

The sad thing is people are actually investing in it.

Not too worried about that disc actually.
It's mind-boggling insane to think of the size of our galaxy, let alone the known universe... and how much of that is "empty" space. The probability of anything actually finding that are unimaginably small, and if it was found, what are the odds that it they will be hostile or even decide to make contact? And if they decided, do they have the technology to make the journey?

Re: Some retrowear can stay in the past.
I highly recommend Chris Impey's book "Beyond: Our Future in Space" for many, many reasons...one of which is his discussion of the probability of life on other planets, definition of life, and mathematical probability that intelligent life on other planets chronologically coincides with intelligent life on earth and has the capability and desire to communicate with us. Fascinating stuff.MikeK wrote:Not too worried about that disc actually.

Life on other planets: Highly likely.
Chances of a probe the size of a compact sedan finding its way to life on an unplanned trajectory outside our solar system: nil
Thanks for the book rec though muggs. Sounds interesting.

Our broadcasting has far outstripped the disc in terms of distance, time, and spread. In reverse, we're not looking for extraterrestrial probes, we're looking for signals.
Regardless, cool project AND fartbags still blow.
